Turn this traditional Celtic festival into something mindful and inspiring

Did you know that the first Halloween celebration was actually a pagan Celtic festival? In the ancient festival of Samhain, the Celts wore costumes and lit bonfires trying to scare away ghosts. Until today, they celebrate the festival on the eve of November 1st. On this night, the Celts believe that the barrier between the physical and spiritual worlds collapses, letting spirits freely flow into our world.

Eventually, the world picked up the tradition and placed its own twist on the festival. Clad in our costumes, we spend Halloween eating free candy and trying to outdo each other’s scary makeup.
