Life is a whirlwind of responsibilities, routines, and the constant buzz of everyday life. Amidst
Thousands of women have asked me, “What is the key factor to your success?”
Let me tell you a story first. A long time ago, I thought success meant leveling up on my job, possessions, and looks. If I think of my life based on that standard, I’d say I’m doing pretty well. I run a lifestyle magazine for women, I’ve accumulated quite a lot of nice things, and my face is still, at 51, youthful. My ENERGY keeps me going from morning ‘til night and I love it.
But the moment I neglect my health, my energy plummets. And so there’s your answer, ladies: I attribute my success to my health.
I put myself first so that I can be as creative as I can to inspire you. It is not selfish, but rather, LOVING. I begin my mornings with healthy rituals to prepare me for my day. These healthy self-care rituals keep me calm, cheerful and focused throughout the day.
Now, I am no different from you. I, too, have to face many challenges every day. They rattle me and push me to lose my focus. But because I am intentional in my self-care, my high energy and clarity allow me to see that challenges are a big part of my journey. Being healthy, I don’t have to fall into the FEAR trap of failure.
Taking care of our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health takes lots of effort, energy and focus.
One way I take care of myself is to prepare snacks to boost my energy level. This particular snack—Protein Bliss Balls—is a staple in our fridge (and on my desk during busy days). They’re delicious and also easy to make. I consider them my little energy boosters when managing hormonal changes brought on by perimenopause can seem like an uphill climb.
