One house used to be a century-old dairy building. Another was a dark and dank seaside cottage. And the third house was built back in the 19th century. House Maritz
Right from the start, Hannes and Tina Maritz knew what they wanted to create out of their 100-year-old dairy storage facility. They envisioned an open-plan home where spaces were defined not by restrictive walls but by their vintage furniture. Read their complete story (and marvel at more photos of their amazing home) in FIGS & FETA Magazine Issue 11.
House Slogget
Interior stylist Tara Slogget was not daunted by the seemingly unlivable conditions she found her dream home in. Only two elements mattered: the cottage’s beautiful, sturdy bones and the fact that the property was just a few steps from the sea. In FIGS & FETA Magazine Issue 11, Tara talks about how she renovated her home to become the whitewashed bohemian sanctuary it is today.
Bunya House
This 19th-century house has an amazing view of The Gib. Its interiors are just as awe-inspiring. Camilla and her family turned the house (with its own traditional potting shed in the back) into a charming bed-and-breakfast for anyone wanting a breather from the city. They lay out how exactly they did that in FIGS & FETA Magazine Issue 10.
Do you need more inspiring ideas for your home? How about jumping onto the Hygge trend of simple and natural interiors? In FIGS & FETA Magazine Issue 9, we talk about the beauty of cocooning—turning inward and using the quiet simplicity we find there to inspire natural and monochromatic design.
