Make your front door extraordinarily welcoming with a wreath you make yourself!
Want to make sure your guests feel your warm welcome even before they ring the doorbell? Hang a welcome wreath on your front door. Even better, make the wreath yourself! A handmade wreath tells your guests that you value them, and that you want their visit to be filled with JOY.
Wreaths have long been regarded as symbols of happiness, celebration, and hope. Ancient Greeks and Romans popularised them, even sometimes adorning their heads with these wreaths to signify status or victory.
Today, a wreath hanging on a front door has become a symbol of friendship and openness. It becomes even more special when you make it yourself. (It’s easier than you think!)
“But I don’t want to go out just to buy materials for my wreath,” you might say. That’s alright, neither do we. All you need to do is look around your house and backyard. You can make a beautiful wreath out of spare buttons, leftover grosgrain ribbon, some hessian fabric (the FIGS & FETA home store carries ribbon and hessian fabric), dried leaves, fallen flowers, pine cones, twigs.
These are the materials you’ll need:
A wreath of polystyrene ring (lacking this, you can make a ring out of crumpled paper)
Faux hessian or soft hessian fabric
Glue gun
Grosgrain ribbon
Trimmings of your choice
